Women’s college basketball star Hannah Hidalgo finally broke her silence about her controversial repost of Candace Owens commentary on Saturday. Her public deal with comes just five days after Notre Dame teammate Olivia Miles entered the transfer portal with a cryptic shot at her former teammate.

Will it be enough to repair the relationship?! I don’t believe so.

Hidalgo, a five-star women’s college basketball prospect in the recruiting Class of 2023, committed to engage at Notre Dame over offers from Michigan, Stanford, Duke and Ohio Declare, among others. It was a huge get for the program. She has averaged more than 22 points and five rebounds per game in each of the last two seasons. The Fighting Irish reached the Elite Eight in both years.

A big part of Hidalgo’s conclusion to play in South Bend was based in religion. The two-time All-American is very open about her Christian faith and said before that it deepened during the pandemic.

However, her religious views got her into some trouble in July 2024. Hidalgo reposted a clip to her Instagram story from a conversation between Don Lemon, who is openly gay, and Candace Owens.

There’s no denying the skill and ability of Notre Dame sophomore guard Hannah Hidalgo on the court. In her first collegiate season, Hidalgo was only the fifth player in the women’s college basketball history to earn First Team All-American honors, lead the nation in steals and be elevated to a place of leadership in the Fighting Irish program.

Then, in July of 2024, Hidalgo shared a controversial post on social media between CNN anchor Don Lemon and political commentator Candace Owens.

In the snippet of a longer conversation, Lemon, a married gay man, asked Owen what she thinks about similar sex marriage.

“It’s a sin,” said Owens.

“You think it’s a sin?” said Lemon. “So you ponder I’m sinful because I’m married to a man?”

“Yes, you’re sinning. You are in a sinful relationship,” said Owens. “I actually don’t believe marriage can be between two men.”

Soon after sharing the video, Hidalgo deleted the post.Hidalgo hasn’t publicly responded to her social media send.

Hidalgo excels on the big stage, like when Notre Dame defeated the UConn Huskies behind her 29 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. However, the post she shared in July is still something behind talked about this

Hannah Hidalgo has formally apologized for sharing an anti-LGBTQ+ video on her social media platforms.

In the summer of 2024, Hidalgo reposted a video of conservative pundit Candace Owens discussing how homosexual marriage was a "sin," though she remained mum on the topic. Former Notre Dame leader coach Muffet McGraw shared her thoughts, stating it was "almost insulting" to Hidalgo's teammates – and fans contain been quick to heckle the celebrity about it as well.

"What I reposted wound a lot of people," she began. "I took it down, of course. I wanted to apologize to people that I injure because that's never my intention. I love everyone, regardless of what skin color, what doctrine, what religion, regardless of what you think, because the Lord calls us to love everyone."

Of note, it was reported in 2022 that 38 percent of all WNBA players were part of the Queer community, showing just how out of touch Hidalgo's choice to post the video was. Considering how many players in the league are in the c

Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo Still Ridiculed After Addressing 'Mistake' Of Sharing Candace Owens Clip

Nine months ago, Notre Dame women's basketball celebrity Hannah Hidalgo shared a clip of political commentator Candace Owens telling Don Lemon - the former CNN host who is gay - that same-sex marriage is a "sin" and that she does not believe "marriage can be between two men."

Hidalgo, who is open about her Christian faith, signed with Notre Dame over many other high-profile programs, in large part due to the Christian and Catholic ties within the university.

With a large number of women's college basketball players being lesbians, Hidalgo sharing the post to her Instagram story before later deleting it was labeled controversial by many, but she never addressed the situation.

That is, until now, after a number of her Notre Dame teammates entered the transfer portal. Among the collective was Olivia Miles, who took a not-so-subtle shot at Hidalgo on her way out of South Bend.

Miles reposted a TikTok video stating, "Treating people right is better than posting Bible verses you don’t even practice." She then added her retain caption t
