Playitas Beach
This small, immaculate beach northwest of Espadilla Beach is recognizable as the gay and woman loving woman gathering spot in Manuel Antonio. Although nudity is not permitted anywhere in Costa Rica, nudists have frequented this beach for more than 30 years -- but not as much in recent times due to the construction of a large hotel. Access to Playa Playita is closed off for roughly two hours before and after steep tide, when waves block entry to the shore.
