When it comes to identity festival fashion accessories, gay earrings take the proverbial cake these days. Just question Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, GQ, or Allure – they all say we are living in a golden age of earrings. And just taking a glare around, who could disagree?
If you haven’t been hiding under a rock lately, then you will have surely noticed this smoking hot trend over the course of the last couple of years.
Did you happen to see Amal Clooney with her 53-carat drop earrings at this year’s London Film Festival? Or Zendaya with twisted gold-plated earrings to match her gold-plated breastplate at the Women in Film Awards? And who could forget Beyonce’s show-stealing 70 carats-worth of ear candy at the Grammy Awards a scant years back? A thousand WOWS aren’t enough to do them justice.

I want to throw this out there and watch if anyone has an opinion on this.
As my partner and I were walking around Boston on Saturday we got into a
discussion about the aforementioned subject. I consider that gay men who get
earrings and have them installed in their left ear are simply hypocrits
to everything we claim we are against. I indicate, if you are gay and are
trying to pass yourself off as vertical, is that not hypocritical? I
know that the old rules about the left and right ears is no longer used,
but some of my friends got earrings, and they are gay, and put them in
their left ears. They say they retain people guessing, I say that one look
at them, minus the earring, and they would not have to speculate as to their
orientation. But I just think that it is hypocritical to try and act
opposite of what you are. Guys
