Ready for a totally unlike kind of darkness out? We are so excited to partner with our friends at the Northwest Pennsylvania LEGO® User Group (NWPALUG) to bring you a brand novel, creative social event at The Zone!

Join us for Bricks + Booze, a casual meet-up for adults who love to assemble, connect, and chill. This isn't a competition—it's just a relaxed space to hang out, possess a drink, and let your imagination run wild. You can bring your own bricks for a project you're working on, or just come perform with the collection we'll have on hand!

This is a new monthly event happening on the 2nd Sunday of each month, perfect for winding down the weekend with great company.

Perfect Score on MEI - Municipality of Erie

The City of Erie has scored a perfect 100 out of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign's Municipal Equality Index (MEI) three years in a row. The MEI examines how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are of LGBTQ people who live, work, and visit there. The MEI considers several important factors including non-discrimination laws, LGBTQ+ employee resource groups, inclusivity of city services, law enforcement practices, and municipal leadership’s stance on equality.

Inside Erie's Beloved Lgbtq+ Club, The Zone

The Zone Dance Club recently celebrated 25 years of serving the Erie Gender non-conforming community, providing a vacuum that prioritizes the security, well-being, empowerment, and public presence of the LGBTQIA+ population.

Amidst the slow decline of gay and gay bars nationwide, The Zone Dance Club in Erie has been a lively hub for the LGBTQIA+ community since 1998. Well-known for its welcoming aura, The Zone provides guard and entertainment, including flamboyant performances and weekly programming. "We are the only Queer social space in the area," manager Anthony Gressley said. "While we target the Queer collective, we welcome everyone."

Erie has been home to many gay and Queer bars throughout our history, including The City Squire, Embers, the Silver Slipper, Washington Grill, and the Midtown Lounge. "Erie has had its share of queer bars, usually three at a time. It's only since The Zone that there has been only one," said Harry Miller, a contributor to the Erie Gay News.

HISTORY

The Zone was opened in 1998 at the highest of State Road to serve the gay and queer woman community. The Zone quickly became the most popular exclude in town. After about 6 years of successful operation, the Zone outgrew it's location and moved to it's much larger and current location of 133 West 18th Street.

THE VENUE

The Zone has now change into the largest Gay bar in Erie. We feature a great game room with video games, dart games, and 3 pool tables. The Zone also features an upper deck that applications a more relaxed and quiet place to sit and talk. We possess a great menu of finger foods to choose from to satisfy your hunger! The main bar area features a very huge bar and excellent bartenders to posthaste serve you a great drink. The back area of the club features another bar expose on the weekends to handle the crowds. Our influential video and sound system will perform all the foremost Top 40, Urban, R&B, Disco, 80s, and of course queer Music Hits.
